Cello recording for The Welsh Of The West End – One Day More from Les Miserables

Josh Moon arranged and produced a terrific track with Welsh Of The West End at the end of last year. I did cello and mastered it, and it was shown on TV on New Years Eve. Read about that and see it here.

Cello Parts

It was great to hear from Josh again a few weeks ago. He sent me the backing track and cello arrangement for One Day More from Les Misérables. It’s surely one of the best – and best-known musical theatre songs. I set up and recorded the cello parts with my lovely David Alabaster cello ‘Anna’ at Manor Gardens Studio. I used my trusty Sontronics Aria mic, UA 6176 preamp/compressor, AnaMod ATS-1 tape simulator and UA Apollo interface. The parts for this were a bit trickier than for Adre. I had to practice and work out fingerings a bit before tackling some of the parts!

Josh says:

”George has such an incredible way of bringing projects to life. He’s remotely mastered several projects for me over the last few years and every one without exception comes back with some magic added! When you think a mix is done George can top it off yet again. He’s also a Cello wizard and any production would be lucky to have him feature! Thanks for all your work George. Much appreciated! x”
