From Streem to TAHM – Mixing and Mastering the Palmers’ brilliant new material after a 25+ year break

In the beginning… Streem

Many years ago I produced an engineered some songs with a beat combo from Kendal in the north west of England called Streem. Ian Palmer was the mastermind behind the songs, and Katie Palmer was the terrific angel-voiced front-woman. We went to big expensive studios like Rockfield (pic of me and Kingsley below taken by Ian!), but sadly world domination never arrived for Streem. For more about that click here!

TAHM

Fast-forward some 25 or more years and Ian got in touch… Would I like to mix and master some songs for his brand new project with Katie, TAHM? Of course I would! And brilliant they are too. TAHM stands for “Tom and his Mum” as new co-lead vocalist Tom is a bit younger than Katie, and she thought that in any band photos it would appear that he was with his mum…!!

Here’s the terrific lead track ‘B-Sides’ from the mini album ‘Tonight We’re Strangers’…

And here’s the whole record on Spotify:

Ian says:

“We last worked with George (and indeed the music industry generally) in the late 1990s. Quarter of a century later, we started recording music again and could think of nobody better than George to turn our demos into polished songs. We did not regret that decision and have been delighted with the end product as well as the process of working together with George to bring out the best in these tracks.
