I had a really good day, very enjoyable and picked up some useful tips as well.  It’s just nice to sit, geek out and talk about mixing with someone with more experienced than yourself!   The tips and tricks gained from the workshop have helped me look at my mixes in a fresh way.  Lunch was also fantastic!

Thanks for a great learning day for me. As I mentioned, I liked the 'interruptible' mix format where the teaching is based on actually working on a project. Whilst I'd have a pretty good handle on the major processes in Pro-Tools, it was the 'in-tricks' that I particularly wanted to learn - and filled an A4 sheet with them. They're all things I'll use on a daily basis. The Strawberry Meringue  dessert was worth the entry fee by itself !

A workshop I highly recommend for both users and non-users of Pro Tools, a very laid back day full of excellent tips and information for recording and editing tracks. I have been on many workshops but due to the lower numbers it had a more personal feel to it.

It was also great to hear George’s stories about recording sessions with some of my favourite bands and making me more determined to practise and one day record those bands myself (if George is too busy of course!!) It was also great to meet up with other like-minded people from different backgrounds and experience (a great bunch of lads). I will deffo be coming back.

I also recommend the great food, and get George to play you the Troggs tape!

George is an excellent teacher with extensive knowledge and experience of mixing and production. The workshop went through the stages of the mixing process using George's current mixes, which covered a wide range of musical styles. I learnt more about mixing in Protools, workflow, the use of plugins and outboard in one day than I have learnt from reading dozens of books and magazines.

The day was fun and relaxed, with plenty of opportunities for questions and chat (and a tasty lunch). George, when's the next one?

I have been on many different courses in and around the area of music production and mixing including a university degree.  But I have never taken anything away as useful as the skills, tricks and tips George has given me from the one day pro tools course.  It is incredibly hard to find and meet the right people to learn constructive and practical skills.  But with this type of service, intimate and direct, you can really get a feel of what it is like to be in this field of the music industry.  George has a great background, an untapped resource of knowledge, and a general love for what he does, which can really help and inspire people to learn and progress. 

There are so many things to take into consideration when approaching a mix, and there are many ways of doing so, but from seeing the sessions George has worked on, it has shown me a better way and more productive way of working on my own sessions.  I would recommend Bank Cottage to anyone, whether for recording, mixing or pro tools courses. Because you are guaranteed to get a professional service, throughout the entire workflow and get exactly what you set out to achieve.

I can honestly say that I got plenty more than I expected to get.  I can only suggest you increase you price maybe to £150 for the amount of knowledge you give out! But maybe keep a discount for previous customers :)
